  •  Asters<\/strong> (Symphyotrichum) The daisy-like flowers come in primarily pinks and purples.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Goldenrod<\/strong> (Solidago) These native prairie plants burst into plumes of small yellow flowers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • False sunflower<\/strong> (Heliopsis helianthoides) Towering 3 to 6 feet tall with bright yellow daisy-like flowers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Monkshood<\/strong> (Aconitum napellus) Spikes of rich purple flowers form late in the season<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Toad lily<\/strong> (Tricyrtis) Small pink spotted flowers bloom in the shade, looking almost like little orchids<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Turtlehead<\/strong> (Chelone lyonii) Pink shell-shaped flowers bloom in late summer, preferring wet soils.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Autumn crocus<\/strong> (Colchicum) These bulbs produce leaves in the spring that die back to reveal large pink crocus-like flowers in fall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sweet autumn clematis<\/strong> (Clematis terniflora) A vigorous twining vine covered in small white honey-scented flowers each fall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Common witchhaze<\/strong>l (Hamamelis virginiana) A native North American shrub with small yellow flowers in the fall, and often also has wonderful yellow fall leaf color<\/li>\n\n\n\n
